Do Apple Support send the email that Apple ID will be expired within 48 hours?

Can Apple ID be expired? Today, I got an email sent from Apple Support. It showed that I need to verify my ID & password within 48 hours. I'm really not sure if it's real from Apple?

Your ID would not expire and Apple would not ask you to change the ID or password via email.

If you received some notification that your Apple ID was disabled, when you tried to make a purchase in iTunes or one of the other stores, that is something entirely different and that does not come via email, it occurs right within the store when you attempt to purchase something.

I would ignore the email, and delete it. You can also report it to Apple.

There have been several spam emails purporting to be from Apple. Most of the ones I've seen indicate that ones account is disabled or needs updating and the email has a link.

Never click on a link in an email.

Apple ID do not expire. However your credit card that is registered with your Apple ID might be near its expiration date. You can fix that by logging into your account. Do that on the web but do not click a link in an email.
