Q: Photos aren't syncing to iPhone 5 - HELP!

I have connected my iPhone 5 to my MBP to sync up apps, music, photos, etc. While everything seems to work fine, I cannot seem to get my photos (using iPhoto) to sync onto my phone. This has never been an issue before today. Any thoughts on how I can fix this problem? Thank you in advance!

I JUST SWITCHED MY IPHONE 4S TO A 5S AND THE SAME THING WAS HAPPENING TO ME. I JUST SOLVED IT BY DELETING THE IPOD PHOTO CACHE ON FINDER AND THEN, ALL OF A SUDDEN THE PICTURES STARTED TO SYNC AGAIN. O HAD 2 IPOD PHOTO CACHE ON MY LIBRARY AND ALL OF THEM HAD NO PHOTOS. I'M GLAD I SOLVED IT!!!!!!!

    DaveFlows,

I was having the same problem.  Your solution fixed it!  Thank you!

Do you think I can replace the original iPhoto library with the rebuilt library on my MBP?  Keeping the two libraries on the hard drive is taking up a lot of space.  I'd like to delete the original to free up some space, but don't want to run into this problem again...

Glad it helped, having a corrupted library rather than cache is a nasty problem that is hard to solve.

My advice is backup your old library and new library to an external disk just in case.

I would say that since I worked through the fix I've added a couple of hundred new photos and haven't had any problems.

    Thanks, again.

Will do.  I always backup -- everyone should!

I see this is a slightly old thread and probably dormant by now. However I'll risk posting in here. I've been having the same problem, i.e. rotating circle on my Photos tab in iTunes:

I went through all the steps in this thread, got the app, rebuilt the library, relaunched iTunes... but I STILL have the same issue.

    Next step please?

Exactly the same here as TonyInFrance. Everything syncs, except photos, which has a spinning wheel under the tab. I've rebuilt, reinstalled and restored everything, but it won't work.

How are you creating albums on the iPhone, My understanding was that Camera Roll is pictures taken on the iPhone, any other albums are ones that have been synced from iTunes

Once you have transfered whats in the camera roll you sort it into folders on the computer and then sync these to the iPhone

I might be missing it but I see no way to create new albums on the phone

I'll start with replying to Taylorlie:

I think you can create albums on the iPhone. I see that there is a + sign once you tap the Photos app on your screen which then asks you to type in the name of your new album.I've never tried this but I think it works.

    Now for my original problem:

I've finally got it solved. How did I do it? I had to restore the iPhone and set it up as a new phone.

No amount of backing up the phone contents (on iCloud or in iTunes) and restoring using these backups did the trick. It was a painful affair overall and took a lot of time since I had to rearrange all my apps in respective folders again. However the end result was positive.

    Thanks DaveFlows,

I also was unable to sync to any of my iOS devices from iPhotos.  I was getting the "error: -50" warning message.  The solutions offered by Apple techs didn't work but your solution did.  There must be a bug in iPhotos.
