Q: iPhone 5 Wont Sync Music w/iTunes 11.1.3

Ever since I updated to iTunes 11.1.3 on my Macbook Pro, I cannot get it to sync music to my iPhone 5! I tried using normal sync and I tried using Manually manage music and videos...nothing! It begins to sync and then...done!

Help please?

iPhone 5, OS X Mavericks (10.9), Running latest IOS 7

I found a solution that worked for me for both my iPhone 5s and my iPad 4:

    1) Uncheck the new songs you want to sync, along with all other songs from that artist, in your playlist in iTunes on your computer.

    2) Use the USB cable to sync (turn off WiFi first on your iPhone).

    3) After the sync completes, close iTunes on your computer.

    4) Unplug your USB cable from your iPhone.

    5) Open iTunes on your computer.

    6) In your playlist in iTunes on your computer, check all of the new songs you want to sync, along with all other songs from that artist.

    7) Plug in the USB cable to your iPhone.

    8) After syncing, all of your songs should have synced to your playlist on your iPhone.

There must be a glitch in the new iTunes update that Apple will need to fix with another update.  At least this workaround works until then.  It was frustrating that it took me two days to figure out a solution, but I hope that others see this and are spared some of the misery I went through.

Thanks for your help, unfortunetly It did not work.

The capacity bar at the bottom will scale up with music, I press "Sync", it firsts runs a backup, then transfers purchases, then its done.

It just completly forgets the music.

I fiddled and got it to sync all the desired music back onto my phone. Here's what I did:

I have my phone plugged into my Mac. Under summary I unchecked and checked manually manage music. Now, here's the key, and what I think was the difference. I went to the MUSIC TAB. SYNC MUSIC was not checked. I checked it. If it's checked, I suggest unchecking it and letting everything unsync from your phone. That way, I think it should run another sync and load everything back on.

I noticed the difference when that little bar that says what song is on started running through songs it was syncing. Hope that helps.

Note, I had to go down and do the same thing with my tones (ring and text).

Didn't work either. :/ Quite the disappointment.

I was having this same issue.  I just unchecked Sync music and applied the changes to my phone and then I quit iTunes (it may work without quitting, but I did it to be safe), I checked my phone and all songs were removed.  Then I went back into iTunes and checked Sync music again and applied the changes and it worked.  When I did mine, I didn't have to reselect any of the songs/artists/playlists etc., iTunes had rememebered everything I previously had checked so it at least saved some work for me with that...

I had been having this issue for a while then I realized the new iTunes was only syncing over wifi. Turn off the sync to this device over wifi, turn off your wifi if you have to, then try to sync again.

Tired both suggestions above, nothing is working guys. Its really starting to tick me off. I even tried the auto-fill function. Nothing works. Its still following the same path:

I press Sync, the following occurs:

    A) Backing up

    2) Determining Apps To Sync (Even though I don't sync any apps via computer)

    3) Updating Sync Informaton

    Then nothing.

I am using a MacBook Pro (Mavericks), iTunes 11.1.3, iPhone 5, iOS 7.0.3.  I am unable to sync my music to my iPhone. I have selected to sync "selected playlists, artists,...". When I update a playlist in iTunes, the results are not shown in the iPhone after a sync. If I remove a song from a playlist in iTunes, it still shows up on the iPhone, but cannot play (it skips to the next song in the playlist). When I add a song to the playlist, it does not show up on the iPhone. If I select another playlist to sync, it will not sync.

I have noticed this problem after the iTunes 11.1.3 update.

I have a solution that worked across a couple devices.

iTunes 11.1.3 on Mavericks would not sync music to either my iPhone 4S (iOS 7.0.3) or a new iPad Air (iOS 7.0.4).  I tried the various suggestions above and elsewhere with no joy.

Then I turned OFF WiFi on the devices.  Syncs were normal.  Syncing via WiFi (no USB cable) did not sync.  WiFi had to be OFF on the devices.

    Ken...

Thanks for the suggestion, but turning off wifi didn't help. Can't sync playlists or songs anymore at all - just gets skipped over during the 7 step sync form iTunes.

I have: iTunes 11.1.3 on Mavericks with an iPhone 5 running iOS 7.0.4.

Its rather pathetic that Apple hasnt issued an update to fix this problem. Its been almost 2 weeks and I still cant sync. I've tried every suggestion I've read, from countless people and nothing works for me. I dont want a temprary fix, I want Apple to issue an update so my phone will sync like it did before the 11.1.3 update.

I'm also having the sync issue, but it's more than just music won't sync. Syncing in general is failing for me quite often with the sync either waiting to start or waiting to finish. Music is not syncing, even when the overal sync doesn't fail. I am using the latest iOS and iTunes version. I always sync via USB. I've tried a variety of the suggestions in this thread, but nothing is working.

I'd really like to be able to listen to the new music I purchased.
