Hi Can any body tell me how to close the safari web pages on ipad air. I have a 5S and it has your pages collected in the right had corner you can click on this and then delete each page, but the Air does not have this. Can anybody tell me please.

Is there a tiny x on the line that lists the open page. If so keep hitting the x's till they're all gone.
To close a page (tab) touch the "x" at the left of the name (the page must be in the foreground for the "x" to be visible).
There is an "X" in a circle at the top of each tab. Click that to close the tab. I believe it's on the left side of the tab on top.
Thanks everyone, but there is no "x's" . It not like the iphone 5s when you can clik on safari and each app you have opened is displayed and each app has this tiny x to delete each of them. My ipad Air does not display each app like this and I can only swipe them away, but they are still there when I reopen safari. Unless this is how Air works and you can only swipe ? !!! confused still
Another way is to press the plus sign then the private in the lower left cornet and a pop up will appear asking if you want to close all tabs before going private. Tap close all tabs..
Can you post a screen shot, that would solve the problem in seconds.

thanks for that help. 🙂 When I double tap the plus sign it clears my tabs thank you sooo much. What sberman said I cannot do that as I do not have my pages I have opened run across like he is showing? dont know why. thanks anyway😀
Do you happen to be using iCloud to sync your Safari tabs between Apple devices? If so, see this article:
Thanks for the "this helped me" star. I think it's time for trip to the Apple store just to make sure about the missing x's. Using your iPad would be easier and more enjoyable if they could be found.
Are you referring to pages that you have opened and may be running in the background? If so, double click the HOME button the swipe up on the pages/apps that you want to close.
