this is SO frustrating.

Nov 29, 2013 5:15 PM in response to yukon819by Peppyboy,Thanks so much, this worked for me!
I also discovered during this frustrating experience, thanks to another thread about this issue, that when my iPhone is connected to my computer, a Shared option appears inside the More menu. When I select it I see I can either choose my iPhone or my home Wi-Fi network, which allows me access to my whole music library via my phone! Who knew?! Of course, when I leave the range of my network it's gone, but good to know, if maybe off-topic.

Dec 4, 2013 3:28 AM in response to jstewart93by crawfordcf,Not sure if this helps anyone. I was having same issue with a playlist for Christmas music. Was trying to sync the entire list, and it just wouldn't appear alongside other playlists on my iPhone - very frustrating. Then I noticed that the songs were not "checked". On the Summary page I had checked "Sync only checked music and videos". So, I changed all the songs in the playlist to "checked" and finally iTunes let me sync the whole playlist (or even by genre or song, which it wasn't allowing me to do).

Dec 7, 2013 9:32 AM in response to jstewart93by abeim,I'm not entirely pleased with an option that resyncs all my music. Does Apple ever do something about these issues? Going on for at least a month? Sad. This is such a simple thing.

Dec 7, 2013 9:52 AM in response to abeimby abeim,I can add that I tried the un-sync / re-sync with no luck.

Dec 7, 2013 2:37 PM in response to yukon819by frogonoboe,This worked for me, but for other users for whom this didn't work, you might try unchecking sync, then apply and then Restarting the computer. Then go back to iTunes and recheck sync and check the items you want synced.
I this issue really upset me too, I was feeling like momentpunch.
Thanks, Yukon819

Dec 9, 2013 12:59 PM in response to momentpunchby clare.p,I have an iPhone 5 updated to the latest version of iTunes and IOS7
After weeks of desperation I adopted a sledgehammer approach...and it worked!
1. Backup your iPhone
2. On the music tab remove all "manually added songs" (box at the bottom of the screen) then untick all "artists", "albums" and "genres" but leave your chosen playlists selected. Finally untick "Sync music"
3. On the summary tab untick "sync only checked songs and videos"
4. Sync to remove all music (except that in the cloud will remain)
5, Disconnect iPhone
6. Quit iTunes and restart computer
7. Create a new playlist on the iPhone (any old thing)
8. Reconnect iPhone and sync
9. All music and playlists returned
Woo-hoo!
Hope it works for everybody.

Dec 9, 2013 8:36 PM in response to yukon819by Vorpsgirl,Thanks so much for your suggestion. I was about to go crazy. I am a group fitness instructor and use my playlists for work. My old iphone died and they sent me a replacement which I set up today. Imagine my horror when I went to get my music out of my playlist at work and it wasn't there! I had to mannually download indivdual songs durring class. I'm so glad my class was understanding. Thanks to you I have music for tomorrow night.

Dec 10, 2013 3:52 PM in response to jstewart93by tehR,Here is what worked for me:
I selected the playlist that wouldn't sync in my iTunes library and dragged one of the songs in the playlist onto my iPhone in the devices pane. Suddenly all the songs in the playlist started copying over and when they were all done I had the new playlist on my phone.
Hope this helps somebody out.

Dec 10, 2013 4:13 PM in response to tehRby gortdromagh,Wow, thanks tehR, a bit of lateral thinking! Hope this now works as an ongoing solution.
-
Dec 11, 2013 3:41 AM in response to gortdromaghby gortdromagh,Ah well... no lasting solution. TehR's idea works to update the playlist as it is now but when the playlist changes and is resynced the changes don't show up. I just hope to God Apple put someone on fixing iTunes - it's so crucial to everything they do and is getting more and more broken.
