Q: Playlists won't sync to my iPhone 5!

I've never had this issue before but every so often I like to manually sync my iPhone with iTunes on my MacBook. I created a load of new playlists on my iTunes because I find it easier to create playlists on a laptop but they won't sync to my iPhone.

The way I sync it is just with playlists so I have a smart playlist of all the checked songs (because I don't want my entire library on a 64 gig phone) and then I just check any additional playlists I want on it then sync and it's worked fine up until now.

All software is up to date, as is iTunes.

iPhone 5, iOS 7.0.3

I have been working on this problem all week.  Did a 1 hour plus chat session with Apple.  They concluded that one song on my playlist was corrupted and I had to keep deleting songs and syncing until the playlist stuck.

    WRONG!!

In my case, at least, all songs on the playlist somehow got unchecked.  Make sure that the songs on the playlist are all checked, then sync.  Worked fine.

Personally, I like to use iTools to sync playlists on Mac to iPhone 5, because it's easy to handle and free. But one thing should be noticed is that the mp3 tag information did not transfer along with. So the artist names do not show, and the songs don't get properly categorized. If this exists, there must be something better out there that will transfer both the songs and their id3 tags from Mac to iPhone.

First you have to go into Settings and then Music to turn off iCloud Music Library. Then you can click manage your own music and video in iTunes. This will allow you to drag and drop music into your iPhone on your computer. Hope this helps!

What worked for me - I opened preferences in itunes and found that "Icloud Music Library" was not checked underneath "LIbrary name". I checked this box and itunes uploaded some additional songs from my computer to Icloud. when it finished, the playlists showed up on my phone.

My solution was to reset everything on my Iphone and then restore from the iCloud as it was a new phone. Don't restore from Itunes because you may bring back the bugs.

    Now all is good.
