Dec 12, 2013 10:03 AM in response to Gup06by AngryBritain,Same here, that doesn't seem to be a patch for Mavericks, it's 10.8.4 not 10.9. Going to try the other thing though.
Just checked, I don't have the
com.apple.AutoWake.plist
File :-\
Oddly I do have two very similar ones:
com.apple.airport.preferences.plist-orig
com.apple.airport.preferences.plist
I wonder if deleting one of these is the answer?

Dec 12, 2013 11:07 AM in response to AngryBritainby Apple_User_1000,Having the same issue and there is no such file. So annoying that I had to deal with this issue before the Mavericks upgrade and Apple issued and update that fixed it. Now the same issue again...If only they had any other way to connect to the network, I would.

Dec 12, 2013 8:20 PM in response to Parthelonby Alessio Signorini,I solved the problem starting the laptop in Safe Mode, going to Network Preferences and then
- confirming (but disabling) the Thunderbolt Bridge
- deleting the Wifi interface, applying the changes, and then creating a new one
At the following (normal) restart the problem was gone.
You can find more details in this blog post: http://bit.ly/1cF5cQt

Dec 13, 2013 7:05 PM in response to Alessio Signoriniby IAmTheAllspark,I too am having wifi issues after upgrading to Mavericks, so frustrating.
Alessio - Glad the fix is working for you, but re-installing the OS...Really? That is weak sauce that Apple can't release a fix.

Dec 14, 2013 3:27 PM in response to Parthelonby Parthelon,It is now 4 weeks since i logged a call with Apple support ( or not support).
They are basically clueless, and keep blaming the router (before even asking what router i had)!
they also dont reply to my communicaitons, and as far as im concerned dont really care.
As an apple customer of many years, and a software developer, Im appauled with Apple support's arrogance and treatment of customers.
Seems the Apple has indeed fallen far from the tree in recent times.

Dec 26, 2013 5:27 PM in response to Parthelonby RBOBBY79,As of yerstarday i my self UpGraded to the new softwere Mavericks and had the same problems...my mid 2010 MBP wouldn't connect to intert via Wi-FI.
I've looked over the internet and tryed every method to troubleshoot the problem.
Ended up calling Verizon Customer Support and troubleshooted with them the situation.
My router is a MI424WR model and it was setted on a WEP encription tipe.
We changed that into a WPA2 encription and all got back to normal.....CONNECTED TO INTERNET VIA
Wi-Fi.
I guess the Apple dropped somehow support for WEP tipe encription(and that is only my personal opinion).
You should try this step also....maybe will help.
Good luck to everyone....hope my experience helped somehow.

Jan 9, 2014 2:16 PM in response to Parthelonby Wookie99,I have the same problems on 3 machines ( MB Air - MBP and iMac 27) with Mavericks. I have switched out routers with Verizon and direct connected my Airport Extreme. Ever 6 seconds these machines are looking for a newtork - i.e connected for 6 seconds and searching for 10 seconds. In essence I am online with wireless 1/3 of each minute. The issue is consistent now with 4 routers tested.
If I hardwire the Mac I get full bandwidth and no network drops. NOW... my 4th machine can only run Snow Leopard now and IT HAS NO wireless issues on the same subnet. Hmmmm.
APPLE: You have a problem with Wi-Fi and Mavericks. Please address this. -

Jan 9, 2014 5:03 PM in response to Alessio Signoriniby TheMeester1,Unfortunately, my laptop (MacBook Pro, 15" Retina, 2012) can't boot into Safe Mode, which also seems to be an issue with upgraded Mavericks systems. So, now, I'm even more frustrated.

Jan 9, 2014 8:16 PM in response to Alessio Signoriniby Wookie99,Unless you are saying this a default MAVERICKS setting that is universally changeable, two of my machines do not have Thunderbold hardware so this fix does not seem plausible for me.
Nice fishing and solving though.~S

Jan 11, 2014 4:26 AM in response to Wookie99by eggplant72,I have had problems with WiFi ever since upgrading to Mavericks. Have tried various troubleshooting steps suggested on this Forum without success. In desperation I have just erased my Mac and done a clean reinstall of Mavericks. This has made things even worse. My Wifi is now not "scanning" at all, and cannot detect any of the various wireless networks in the neighborhood at all (let alone my own network.)

Jan 17, 2014 7:54 AM in response to Parthelonby annestahl,I too have this problem. I bought a MBP in late December, it was refurbished from the Apple store... so it didn't come with Mavericks. There were several things I liked when using Mavericks at work, so I upgraded to it. Now I didn't notice connectivity problems until just recently - but I also just travelled abroad. The wifi is defenitely working for everyone else on the network, as well as my phone (Android) and iPad (1st gen). It's just my MBP that keeps loosing connection. Extremely (!!) frustrating! I've tried all the various things suggested in this post (but didn't have the plist file nor could install the fix/upgrade). I removed Thunderbolt as a 'device' from the Network list, but still getting dropped. Have rebooted over and over.
Apple, if there is a problem with this OS and Wifi - please fix it!

Jan 17, 2014 2:28 PM in response to Parthelonby mauzzz,My Macbook Air would not connect wifi after waking up from sleep. I had to off/on wifi in order to connect after sleep. I called Apple Support, scripted procedure, they had no clue about this problem.
I have solved it by turning off bluetooth. A crude method however.

Jan 23, 2014 6:32 PM in response to Parthelonby cogitatus8,Same issue here. Have two Macbook Pros (one retina, the other late 2010) on Mavericks. All updated. Issue persists on ONLY the MBP devices with Mavericks OSX. Not on Windows 7 desktop, or 5 iOS 7 devices. This needs to be fixed.
Mavericks has not been a good experience. Should have stayed with Mountain Lion...

Jan 23, 2014 8:38 PM in response to Parthelonby PonPavel,Greetings,
Among four Apple devices sharing a common WiFi, random disconnects occur ONLY on MacBook Pro Retina (Late 2012) running the troubled Maverick OSX 10.9.1. All others devices are running successfully with OSX 10.8.5 or iOS 7.0.4. Second level service provider techie (Comcast) was quite familiar with problem, he said. We set security on the Maverick device to WPA2 AES. This now appears as WPA2 Personal in Preferences/Network. Disconnects HAVE NOT stopped.
Apple, this is yours. Fix it ! You're losing fans !
