Jan 23, 2014 10:00 PM in response to PonPavelby Wookie99,This is a growing concern.
My Router continues to fire constantly over dropped and restablished connection on all Mavericks devices. The Snow Leopard and Lion devices are stable and fine.
The recently released Mavericks 10.9.2 beta sent to developers notes no issues with Wi-Fi.
Apple needs to look at this again.
My online access is 20% of what I am paying for over this issues.
I don't mind hiccups and issues, just acknowledge them and fix them.

Jan 25, 2014 8:02 AM in response to Parthelonby Carlos daher,Hi,
I am facing different problem. My wi-fi is always connected and is working perfectly for 5 minutes, after that i will not be able to surf in safari. I thought it is the browser, but i hv tried alternatives. Same problem. I hv to restart mac and it will work again. Since i updated for Mavricks i was not able to work successfully for half an hour without restarting..
Noting also, that i am able at the same time to download files using utorrent for example... Just cant surf
Tried all what is advised here and nothing!
Thanks

Jan 26, 2014 3:22 PM in response to Parthelonby Alessio Signorini,Apparently the issues is not in the wifi or network drivers, but seems to be correlated to the DNS layer in Maverick, in particular to the mDNSresponder service.
When you can't browser the internet anymore, try to open a console and type
sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder
this will restart the service. Let me know if that solves the problem for you as well.
I noticed that somehow, doing a reboot in safe mode, generally "solves" the problem until my laptop goes in sleep mode.

Jan 26, 2014 5:00 PM in response to Parthelonby PonPavel,Geetings,
I’ve spent many hours in discussions with several 1st & 2nd level Apple support staff about the random disconnect issue that seems associated with Maverick. We made numerous changes to numerous parameters. I felt we were shooting in the dark. Finally, a full reinstall of Maverick. This went surprisingly well.
Consensus, at least in my case, is we have an intermittent hardware failure. When the disconnect occurs, the fix is simple. Go to System Preferences/Network and notice your Network Name has vanished. Select your network from the dropdown list and Apply. This restores the WiFi connection in my case and may work in yours.
To me, this is an annoyance and not a game breaker. So, I’ll continue until/if the problem becomes solid.
Of course, this could be a software problem and a fix could be included in the next update. For now, Apple is mum on this point.

Jan 27, 2014 1:47 AM in response to Parthelonby annestahl,I've been following this issue and it would appear that this is really a OS issue. From all your statements there are numerous folks who have this problem ONLY with Mavericks, but clearly have ruled out that this is a problem with the router, stating that other computers (or the same computer before the upgrade to Mavericks) work perfectly fine.
Thus, it looks to me that this is where Apple needs to jump in and fix the problem.
In order for us to get Apple to listen, we need to all click on the 'I have this problem too' link in the ORIGINAL post!
Then comment briefly describing our situation. Here is mine:
I just switched to Apple from PC, because I don't like Windows 8 UI and it was time for a new computer. I am a web developer and therefor have several computers in the home and office for testing purposes. NONE have any issue with either WIFI except my new fully spec'ed out MBP. The problem is that it drops the Wifi connection. From what I have observed, it oftentimes repairs itself or you can quickly fix it by clicking on the Wifi icon, turn Wifi off and on and it works again. However, this is clearly completely unacceptable, as it disrupts my work.
Other computers on my network that do not have any problems with the Wifi: Mac Mini with Mountain Lion, PC with Win 7, PC with XP, iPad Gen 1, Android and iPhone. No problems noted on any of these devices. Just the MBP with Mavericks.
If Apple cannot address and fix this, I would not be surprised that many of us will return to or move to PC.

Jan 27, 2014 3:46 AM in response to annestahlby applewide, this is my stupid fix
it is really stupid, but i can not waste time sending to the Apple and discuss all this red tape asking me this and that enough.
I plugged this to the rj45, it will not interrupt any wireless, this should work fine. I will try to update soon. But this stupid solution should solve the problem because, who would drag cable around the house, drill a hole door to door.
think of this soluion a pat in the back because computer will need power cable, yes think as it is a power cable.

Jan 27, 2014 10:30 AM in response to Alessio Signoriniby Carlos daher,Hi Alessio,
thanks for your reply. it worked fortunatly, but the killed page will never refresh.. hence whatever was on that page is lost, but to start surfing within a new tab, it is working perfectly... so u hv saved my mac from multi-restarting session anyways, thank you.

Jan 27, 2014 10:44 AM in response to Parthelonby supersleb,I have a solution... well sort of...
I have been having this issue, it has been affecting all networks i have tried etc. I went to the apple store to show them after several phone calls and annoyingly it worked just fine in the apple store... SO, i purchased a new airport extreme with the new 'ac wifi' and i no longer have the issue.... It works as it should and for some reason, i dont seem to have this issue on other networks anymore 9the airport extreme is set as being the primary connection so dont know if that has sorted the issue regarding connecting to 'other' networks away from home.
Cheers
Goodluk

Jan 27, 2014 11:33 AM in response to superslebby Wookie99,It's a real shame that you had to buy new hardware. Unacceptable that this had to be your solution.
I have an Airpot Extreme (N) and my 3rd Verizon (N) router. Neither of which are at fault. I ran WiFi diagnostics and passed with no issues. The problem, for me, is Mavericks. I should not have to have AC to work without delay or distraction. Having my access throttleed in half is not productive and not why I own Macs.

Jan 29, 2014 8:41 PM in response to ChrisSantosby applewide,hi chrisSantos
i did that turn off bluebooth, it will work sometimes
there is always diffierent fix this and that all the time but mostly restart will do
but this is not a fix
buying airport extreme forget it, that is too monopoly
i have a final solution, cost me around $20 dollar USD
i bought this tp link and set it to client mode, please see the picture
it is confirmed for me once this wireless is not working, i switched to LAN and it is working again the network.
I now turned off the wireless completely.
Apple will not care or contact me and I will not send my Imac to the apple care, they will just waste time open change hardware.
As I said earlier, i have 2 more PC working wireless with no problem.

Here is the picture to prove it is the Wireless Mavericks itself

Jan 30, 2014 3:58 AM in response to applewideby applewide,hi update 30 jan 2014
suddenly the network on tplink disappeared just the like wireless. I quickly checked the network on windows 7, it is fine.
so i just power off and power on again, it worked after
this is unacceptable, there is something really wrong with the networking protocol, the hardware both wireless and lan should be fine, but the OS, i am not so sure

Feb 1, 2014 7:33 PM in response to Parthelonby PonPavel,Greetings,
As written earlier by me (PonPavel) I continue to be plagued by a spontaneous disconnect from my in-house WiFi. Among my several Apple products, only the MacBook Pro running 10.9.1 Maverick is effected. Here is some additional info.
With the machine fully on for several days and all sleep functions disabled the problem NEVER occurs. With both functions set to 15min, the machine “sleeps” as expected. When reactivated be pressing a key, all is enabled BUT the WiFi connection. I have to re-enter my network name in the Network Name field to reestablish WiFi connectivity.
This, to me, is a software bug that no support person at Apple is willing to acknowledge.
What next Apple ?? You’re losing your panache and I’m getting a headache !!
