is it okay to keep my macbook (early 2009) charging even though it' already 100% charged?

i have a macbook early 2009. i often charge my macbook overnight while i'm downloading, is it okay for the battery?

MacBook, OS X Mavericks (10.9), Macbook Early 2009

It's OK. Your battery will stop being charged when it's fully charged, so it won't damage your battery. Moreover, if you want, you can keep the MacBook plugged in all the time, and only unplugging it once a month to keep the battery life.
