Keep getting asked to put in Facebook password, can't delete the account in the settings.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. If your Facebook account won't delete from Settings on your iPad, I would recommend trying first to force Settings to close and try again, then a restart, and finally a reset, in that order:

Quit the .settings app and reset the iPad.

Double click the Home button to show the screen with running and recently used apps. Each app icon will have a sample page above it. Flick up on the page (not the app icon) and the page will fly away and the app icon will disappear. This quits that app. Then reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

I have tried all the suggested actions to no avail. Any other thoughts?

I have the same problem. Confused why the settings would allow a mode where you are being prompted for the password but have no option to change the user name. Seems to me the design of this is flawed.

Ariel S - I'm have the same problem - since the recent application upgrade (asking to put in Facebook password and cannot delete account). Did what you've suggested, twice, and still no fix. Is Apple giong to provide an upgarde to fix the issue for the iPad? The last upgrade was iOS 7.0.4, which based on the issues I'm experiencing and those of my fellow commuity members, is seriously flawed.

Go to Settings -> Security -> Facebook and click. Try to login into the app again.

Whoops, sorry .... Should be Settings -> Privacy -> Facebook.

I had the same problem. I had permanently deleted the Facebook account before I attempted to remove it from my iPad. Ergo, the password was no longer linked to Facebook. So I rejoined Facebook, changed the Facebook generated email address to what it had been previously, and then was able to delete Facebook from my iPad. Then back to the computer to permanently delete my Facebook account. It was a pita, but I no longer have to put up with those iPad pop ups asking me for my Facebook password.

I had similar problem with old Facebook account asking for a password in settings.

I deleted but would not delete.

I made a new account on Facebook using the old email address and created a new password.

This new password was recognised by the settings Facebook integration page.

I was able to then delete it and put in my new details.

Then I deactivated the new account.

I was lucky to still have the original email address that the original Facebook account was created with.

I got stuck in the same endless loop. Settings has a blank for my Facebook ID with no way to change it.

None of the above helped me.

Found a solution after wringing my hands for hours and scouring the forums looking for a solution. Put in your FB password. Hit "RETURN". Instant problem solved. Sounds simple but I tried numerous fixes that didn't work before this one.

I'm not being sarcastic either...most apps you can type info in and tap the screen to enter. You must hit return to make FB accept your password on IPad for some weird reason.
