I don't use iCloud and using it for contact and calendar sync is something I will not do.

I don't use iCloud and using it for contact and calendar sync is something I will not do. Mavericks has messed up my whole workflow and I´m extremely ****** off and there is no way in **** I´m ever buying anything from apple again if this is the road they want to force us users down.

My iphone is now a piece of worthless junk without calendar syncing. I want my money back... to buy hardware and software that works and doesn´t blackmail me into your foggy cloud with an open backdoor to anyone who feels like they need to take a peek into other peoples lives.

An extremely ****** off user of your overpriced junk which is progressively degenerating with every update.

iPhone 4, iOS 7.0.3

The question is: how can I sync my iphone with my macbook calendars and contacts offline now that I´ve downgraded myself with mavericks ? I know I didn´t ask that in my original post but after spending quite some time with damage control I needed to vent some anger...

I´m grateful for any ideas as to how I can efficiently work with my hardware and software without having to use the cloud...

After all, bought the apple toys because syncing seemed so easy... now they aren´t worth half of what I spent on them.

So, any ideas on how to sync my iphone and macbook calendars without being an it wizard ?

Like you, I was dismayed to find that upgrading to Mavericks would oblige me to use the iCloud to sync my contacts and calendars between my Mac and my iPad (upgraded to iOS7) and that I would lose syncing via iTunes. I am very attached to confidentiality in these matters and I do not see why my personal contacts (my family mainly) and my personal appointments should have to go outside of my own home. I invested in a local backup solution using a Synology NAS some time ago because I do not trust iCloud, Apple, Google, Microsoft or anyone alse not to disclose my data if they are asked to. My solution was to DOWNGRADE to Mountain Lion. It worked, and now I have restored iTunes syncing as before.

Come on Apple, this is the post Phenix and the post Snowden age. Please restore iTunes syncing in Mavericks and keep the cloud as an option.

I don't use iCloud and using it for contact and calendar sync is something I will not do.
