When iCloud does an automatic backup does it back up your notes? What does it mean by documents. I think I need a new battery and since this means Apple will just replace my iPad I don't want to lose anything. Can anyone help?

Thank you, Ana. Hate to admit how inexperienced I am but..... I read all three. Does that mean that the contents of my notes are automatically stored in the cloud and I do not have to back them up?

It'll be swapped. When you first connect it to itunes on your computer, you will be given the option to restore from an itunes or icloud backup. I recommend itunes. You can use itunes to make a local backup, but also keep maintaining the icloud backups. Restoring from iTunes is faster, but the icloud backup is added insurance. And if you have photos on the device, be sure to sync them to the computer. Relying on icloud is iffy when it comes to photo backups.
