Mail not connecting

Twice since upgrading to Mavericks I've had Mail App stop connecting to all my email accounts.

Clicking the warning icon next to any account inbox give at dialog with...

There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Verify the settings for account “xxxx@xxx.com” or try again.

The server returned the error: The server “imap.server.com” cannot be contacted on port 993.

Where "imap.server.com" is either "p05-imap.mail.me.com" or "imap.gmail.com". I have an iCloud account & a few Gmail accounts.

I'm having no problems with connecting to other internet services & mail accounts connect using Airmail.

The first time it happened it seemed to come good as spontaneously as it began a couple of days later.

Between the first & 2nd times I applied the updater to Version 7.0 (1822).

In the past I've occaisionaly had one or other account transiently lose connection but never all accounts at once & never for more than a few minutes.

Mac mini, OS X Mavericks (10.9)
