Control Keys don't work.
My control keys on my macbook don't work. The headphone trick doesn't help. I know it's a Maverick problem. What can I do to fix this?
MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

I am still having this issue after trying the fixes - they briefly fixed it, but within minutes I've lost the control of my brightness volume, etc. brand new retina MBP with Mavericks.
I have a similar problem. After an upgrade to Mavericks, the function keys no longer work, or they are mapped differently. I have checked settings, and they are all different. My keyboard is pretty old, but it is the wireless aluminium one which seems to correlate to the up-to-date picture on apple -- How to identify keyboard localizations
So, is the answer quite simply my keyboard has been superseded?
You might want to consider starting a new discussion. Since this one is marked solved, less people are likely to look at it. You can link to this one.
