This is what I meant buy the downloadable version on the link provided, instead of trying to buy a hard copy of it.
Clear that I have to do backup, thanks.
The Snow Leopard link that I provided is NOT a download version.
It is a link to purchase an actual physical retail installation disc that you will receive in the mail.
There is NO direct "Web/Internet" download of OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.
You have to purchase and use a physical installation disc.

Jan 21, 2015 1:45 AM in response to danykosmicby MichelPM,Your MacBook year and model can only have its OS X upgraded to OS X 10.7 Lion using a special purchased email sent download code to download OS X 10.7 Lion from the Mac App Store.
Once OS X 10.7 Lion is initially installed, you can update the OS through the Mac App Store to OS X 10.7.5 Lion.
And even at that, for best performance, your MacBook model can take a total of 6 GBs of RAM.
Newer versions of OS X really need all the RAM that a particular Mac model can hold for best performance.
Correct, compatible and reliable Mac RAM can ONLY be purchased from online RAM sources Crucial memory or OWC (http://www.macsales.com).
OWC is the only supplier of the 6 GB RAM kit found here.

My browser is Mac OSX 10.5.8 (Snow Leopard) my question is do I have to buy every disk to upgrade it to the latest browser ?
Do I have to buy the 10.6 and Mountain Lion 10.7 or can I just skip them and go directly to a later browser ???
Thank you.

Mar 10, 2015 12:32 PM in response to GregoryCR007by BDAqua,You need 10.6, upgraded specifically 10.6.8 to go higher, then Yosemite will be free, Lion & Mountain Lion can be purchased for $20 with a call to Apple if you want either of those.

Jul 15, 2015 6:23 PM in response to Csound1by iwasfromja,I followed this link and it seemed like Greek to me http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook/specs/macbook-core-2-duo-2.2-white -13-late-2007-santa-rosa-specs.html
I read through the thread but as I said as a new mac user I am not looking at anything familiar on that page.
