    Either press the Sync button on the bottom corner of your device's Summary page in iTunes when connected to start the 6 step sync starting with a backup (if you have iTunes set to automatically manage media, the default) or right click your iPhone's name on the iTunes sidebar (if you are using iTunes 11, look up how to bring that back temporarily) and click Back up.
