Q: Pages (latest ed) doesn't let me share documents through email anymore.

I updated to the the Mavericks when it was released and updated my copy of Pages along with it. Pages was working flawlessly until yesterday when it was having trouble connecting to my Mail (and hence my Gmail) account. This happened even though I checked the connection and the connection seemed perfectly normal. Earlier today when I went to share a doc through the "Send a Copy" tab and when I scrolled over this I was given two options. Share document through Messages or through AirDrop. The email option had completely vanished! I checked my Mail account's connection to Gmail and everything appeared normal. I disconnected the account and reconnected it to be safe and tried again. Still no "Mail" option. I then deleted my copy of Pages 2013, restarted my comp and redowloaded it. Still no "Mail' option! (I also scanned Pages with 2 different virus detection apps {VirusBarrier Express & ClamXav} and both didn't find a thing wrong with it. Also I ran DiskUtility & that also found nothing wrong.)

MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012), OS X Mavericks (10.9)

Also, Keynote and Numbers have the same problems. I can share documents to iCloud but I can no longer send a copy via email directly from the applications themselves.

See About the new iWork for Mac: Features and compatibility. That is not one of the features they plan to restore in the next six months.

Send feedback. There are forms for Keynote and Numbers, as well.

That's because it already is a feature of the new iWork apps - the option to send via email should appear on the Send a Copy menu together with Messages and AirDrop. The fact that PieMatey is only seeing the latter two is a bug, not a missing feature.

I'll have to have a look for myself when I get time (I'm on my Mtn Lion partition right now), but there have been plenty of others with the same complaint.

If that's a must then use Pages 4 which should be in /Applications/iWorks '09/ directory (folder).

same problem. can't share by mail any doc of Pages on iPad. it's not a 'type' problem, because it doesn't work if I try pdf of doc type neither. as i clic on mail icon, Pages closes. very very sorry about the many many troubles on the last version of one of my favorite apps.

Select the share icon in the document window.  Then select send a copy, then email

I did just like that, but nothing happens when I clic on mail icon. I think it's a bug of Pages (talking about Pages for iPad): many of them, sometime, are solved when you turn off the iPad, turn on and open again the app.

I'd bet money you changed your default email reader to something like Outlook. As far as I can tell, the share by email option will only appear if you have the built-in Mail app selected as your default email reader.

(This was meant to respond to the original poster. I don't know what the issue is on the iPad.)
