I am installing software that requires me to add/alter/change root admin to complete. I havn't found anything on this anywhere. What are the steps to do this?
No proper OS X software would do that because it's a major security breach. What software is this, and exactly what is it asking you to do - specifically?
It is software by Panorama, used for a database that I have installed. It is saying that "I must be logged in with maximum priviledges befor I try to activate the software".
Do a backup before doing anything. You need to be very careful while logged in as the Root User because you can delete any file and could potentially ruin your system. As soon as the non-functioning applications are deleted, log out and user your normal account. Did I mention doing a backup?
What are the steps to change root priviledges in 10.8.5?
