Always having to type password gets old real fast. So, I boot in recovery, changed password, and reset ACLs...still the same.
So, I was wondering whether setting up Mavericks with my nickname for short name instead of my first name had anything to do
with the result I am experiencing!
Does anyone know how to enable and using "root" user in Mavericks? I found this document, but it doesn't mention Mavericks. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1528
The Lion instructions work for Mavericks but before you do that repair permissions and also Repair your Keychain Acccess.
Thank you ViSHVa for responding. I repaired permission and repaired Keychain Access...doesn't resolve the problem.
My next try is to edit short name as I have enabled "root user" which doesn't resolve the constant password request just to empty trash...annoying! I will follow this document: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3872
Reinstalling Mavericks resolved the issue>
