Trouble burning audio CD'd in iTunes

Most of the time when I try to burn an audio CD in iTunes on windows computers it fails. The disk drive begins to spin at an abnormally high rate and eventually you get an error. The blank CD is then ruined. I have had this happen on 3 different computers. It will usually work on about the 4th or 5th try but by then I have wasted several blank disks. Any ideas. Thanks.
