I have windows 7 on a .iso format on my usb plugged in. When i go on bootcamp to try and create a partition to install it on my HD it only shows me i can install windows on my usb??
you should change the partition of your internal hd to not be all osx filesystem because windows require ntfs file system
if you need more help
guide to partition mac to to bootcamp
Ive done that, i used the 'disk utility' and made a parition in MS DOS (FAT) format then tried and still not working.
Been awhile but think fat is too old for newer windows versions
ive formated it as every other non mac format and still not worked, even just as free space. Anyone?
format it FAT 32. Hold option down while booting. Do you see your usb drive show up as an option for the startup disk? Use it and windows installer should work
Also look here. I'm trying an install and running into issues myself. Hopefully this is the fix.
