iMovie - problems with external hard disk

Hello all -

I have a Mac Mini with OS X - 10.9 that is. I am using iMove 10. Problem I have is, I have been using iMovie uploding kids stuff for a while on to my External HD which is been working great. For whatever reason, I think the disk was connected (I am guessin here) and it went back to root. So, here is how the directroy structure as it is now.

root structure where iMove is looking at now

root --> iMove --> iMovie Library.imovielabrary. But, it doesnt have any iMovie Events folder

External Hard disk has --> iMove --> iMovie Events. But it doesnt have any iMovie Library.imovie library folder.

I have read some comments on the forum talking about dragging and dropping from VIEW--> VIEW HARD DISK LEVEL" something like that, but that option is not there for me. Maybe it's because of the version I am using maybe.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks - Jay
