How to find out my WiFi password?

Depends on what type of router you're using. It may be on a sticker on the router itself. If not there, then you'll have to log into the router. Put this into the web browser's URL field and press return:

192.168.0.1

or

192.168.1.1

It should respond to one or the other. You then may need to enter a user name and password before you can actually view the router's configuration pages. The admin password also may be on the same sticker. If not, refer to the manual for the defaults.

Once in, the router's settings will be displayed in your web browser like a typical web site. Look for a heading such as Wireless Security. The name of the section you're looking for varies from router to router. The passcode should be some long, obnoxious string of characters.

Do NOT change any settings in the router if you don't know what they're for. Just find what you need and close the browser.

Hi Dorch, the wifi password will be the same for all devices connecting to your home network. Just use the same one that you entered to allow your other devices to connect.

If you are setting up a new home network, there will be a default password mentioned in your router's manual. It's probably 9999, or something similar so you can get it going. Because this is a generic password for setup purposes you should change it to one you make up ASAP, for your security. Otherwise it will be easy for anyone to log into your network and use your data, hack into your devices, etc. It's common for some dishonest people to scan for un-password protected wifi networks for their own use.

Can you ask the person who set up your home Wi-Fi?

If your internet service provider set up your Wi-Fi network, you will need to call them.

If you set up the network yourself, you will have to reset the router to factory settings and follow the instructions that came with the wireless router. You can find instructions online by typing your wireless router's brand and model number in Google or Bing search, look for user guides or manuals.

Look on the back of your router. Sometimes the password is posted on the back.

Realize there are two passwords.

1) The admin id and admin password.

2) the wifi password which allows you to secure your network and allows other devices to "login" to your router.
