how do i update itunes for windows
I went to the iTunes web page, clicked on "download iTunes now" and 3 seconds later it says Thank You For Downloading iTunes but nothing has changed.
How do I engage the new download to take effect?

It sounds like you are trying to download the latest version iTunes, and you have gone to the following page to download the installation file:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Once the file downloads, you will need to locate the installation file (this depends on where your computer downloads files to) and double click on the installation file that downloaded to initiate the installation.
