    Hi cawnii,

From the description you provided, it sounds like the icon is the following: iTunes-Missing!.png  If so, it means the file cannot be located; it may have been moved or deleted. For this issue, see the following article:

Alternatively, if your media was downloaded from the iTunes Store, you may be able to download it again free of charge:

    Thanks,

Thank you Matt but I don't think that is my problem. This has all been a issue since I downloaded the new update the other day. Up to then all was fine. I will try to re-explain.

I have  my playlists named like 1960, 1970, 1980 etc all the way to 2013.

I have a windows 7 dell computer. I have a iphone 4 and a new ipod nano. Those two devices and my library are perfect.

I have successifully moved my purchases to my playlists and have synced them to the devices.

When I plug in my ipad2 only some of the song have been moved to my exact same playlists. I then get that icon and it appears as though they are trying to download the songs again from itunes and then I have only a few of my songs. I can not move them from my library one at a time or move the entire playlist to my ipad by drag and drop or add to playlist button . Now when I plug in my 2nd generation ipod to my computer and open itunes it does not  recoginize it is there.at any of my usb ports I use this one the most when I am outside doing stuff.

    I hope this helps
