Charging not supported with this accessory

I have run into a problem with my charger. I plug my cable into the charger and into the wall. Everything seems fine. After a couple seconds I get a popup saying: "charging is not supported with this accessory." After the message it doesn't charge anymore. Can anyone help me with this?
