I watnt to add books to my library so i can sync it with my iphone. But when i go to 'preferences>general' in iTunes the 'show' selection list does not have books, only Audio books. i have the latest version of iTunes. So i don't understand what the problem could be.

With Mavericks your books library is no longer stored in iTunes, instead they are stored in the iBooks app on your Mac - so you add books to the iBooks app, and you can then sync them to your device via the device's Books tab when connected to your iTunes.
When I open ibooks on my mac, all the collection TITLES are there but when I click on them, nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?
