Q: Guided access and FaceTime.
I have tried to use guided access with FaceTime (iOS 7). After configuring guided access in the settings and activating it after starting FaceTime accepting incoming calls is not possible due to guided access restrictions. The screen to accept a call is not shown and accepting a call in the FaceTime GUI is also not possible. Outgoing calls is no problem.
I think when looking at how guided access works it is understandable but it is surely a design mistake if not a bug.
Why do I want an iPad to be locked on FaceTime? Well, my mother is a complete no no when it comes to electrical devices. Even the remote control for the tv is to difficult for her. She is 70 and teaching her now is almost impossible. So, to be able to video call each other I thought I could give her an iPad and lock to FaceTime so she can not start anything else. She would be able to call me and vice versa making it very easy. And after trying it with my own iPad I noticed the problem.
Anyone a solution or should apple look at this?
