Missing iMovie 2013 Content Library

So, I installed the newest versions of all the iLife and iWork apps on my Mid-2009 MacBook Pro. When I installed those new versions, I deleted the old versions. So, my first question is, was that not the right thing to do? Next, my problem is that I am working in the newest iMovie for the first time and I noticed that I cannot access the "Content Library" for transisitions, music, photos, etc... Could the two situations be related? If not, how do I rebuild the database of content? It seems strange that my "content" would be incognito since my music and photos still exist on the hdd. The transitions and sound effects I can see maybe missing, but all of this seems strange. Anyway, thanks for your help!!!!

Go to Window ---> Content Library. It should show up probably in the bottom left of the screen...or something like that, but that's where they went.

Sorry...I did not mean to make anyone feel dumb with my previous post. It is irritating that everytime Apple updates iMovie to a full new version, I have to re-learn the program.

Hi Ben,

Sorry if this is a stupid question but how do you activate the timeline of a project. I imported a clip into my iMovie and it is in the iMovie Library as "Updated Projects". I am running into the same problem of having the content library not visible and the options for titles etc. greyed out when I look for it under "window" in the menu bar.

Thanks

Mark

Nope! This is my first time using iMovie 10.0.8 as I've used it a lot when I was in Snow Leopard and before but I CANNOT find/see/activate the Contents Library at all. I've read what's been listed in this line of Q&A, clicked, closed, reopened, started a new movie....but still no Content Library to be found! In the drop down it's always greyed out. I am not using a theme (no theme) as I don't usually. Movie Properties is also greyed out. Thus I cannot use iMovie.

Wow--I have been loyal to Apple for years, but every new update sorely tests that loyalty. They have turned iMovie into garbage. Obtuse, evasive, counter intuitive, and more frustrating than comparable PC software. And that is saying something. Nothing seems to activate the content library--and for that matter my panel is stuck in a two part division whereas three is clearly needed and there is no clear access to time counters. Amazing how they can take something great and trash it.
