Jun 25, 2014 8:45 PM in response to Robert Martin7by pogster,Robert, okhelpneeded has never made a post since so it's unlikely you'll get a reply.
You mentioned the phone does not always ring so I'm assuming it rings sometimes. In Settings > Do Not Disturb is Scheduled turned ON? If it is turn it off and see if that makes a difference. If that fails reset your phone. Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. That will get you back to the way the phone comes from the factory with your current OS version intact but you won't loose any data, pictures, music, etc. In other words all the custom settings you made will be returned to their default mode.

Jul 2, 2014 12:07 PM in response to okhelpneededby ugga,When Do Not Disturb is off, and all other settings are "greyed", click to always as opposed to only when the phone is locked.
My phone is now ringing on all calls. When I had it selected to only on lock, it would not ring as you described. It may be a glitch in the program, but works as a workaround.

Oct 22, 2014 9:11 PM in response to OzzieBazby degeralo,Like many users, I'm trying to get my iPhone to ring consistently, so I'm trying everything. I am wondering about your statement,
The button showing the Bell with a line through it should be left displaying
HMCITadmin said to select Unmute. The bell with the line through it is labeled Mute. Unmute shows a bell without a line.
I don't understand this setting, so I can't figure out what's logical here.
Many thanks.

Jan 11, 2015 10:53 PM in response to okhelpneededby Jessicah00,I know this question is old but I just figured it out on my phone and figured it could help someone.
When I click on sounds in the settings and check text there was so sound selected so even if the sound was on, my phone wouldn't ring for a phone call or text. I selected a ring tone for both text and phone calls and it works now. It had nothing to do with the 'do not disturb' as I originally suspected. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Jun 24, 2015 7:25 AM in response to enghrsby Edmundo Butler,I just patiently ran through every suggestion here without result: incoming calls were still silenced, even when the phone was unlocked. When an incoming call was showing onscreen and there was agin no sound, I flicked the mute switch (on the top left side of the device) to on and then back to off. the incoming call began ringing. Every call since? No problem. Seems like there's a bug in this apple.

http://www.imore.com/iphone-101-iphone-ringing-meet-silent-switch
It turned out that my phone was switched to "silent" with the hardware switch on the left side of the phone. Because of the phone case that I have, I couldn't see this. I had to take my phone in and out of its case a couple of times because the switch kept turning off when I put it in to the case.

What?
There's no setting for this in iOS.

Where is this setting to not get/make calls while logged into iCloud?

Nov 14, 2015 5:17 PM in response to Chris CAby sksimpson,I'm sorry but I misspoke, I should not have said iCloud. The settings are in IOS. When I replied that there was a setting, I was speaking of IOS since I interpreted your question as referring to IOS, not that the setting existed in iCloud.
