Burning Stops after reading playlist

Thanks in advance for everyone's help!!! 🙂

Like some others, I am having trouble with being able to burn discs. I clikc "burn" and my cd player opens to insert the disc. I put it in, itunes checks the media, then reads the playlist. Once this is complete the burner icon stays "lit" for about 10 second, then closes, shutting down all the burn activities. I have tried 3-4 different brands of blank discs, burning just one song, reinstalling the newest version of itunes, and nothing works. My playlist has 518 songs in it. When I run the CD diagnotics on the blank disc this is what I get:

Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 (Build 2600)
Dell Computer Corporation Inspiron 5150
iTunes 6.0.5.20
CD Driver 2.0.4.3
CD Driver DLL 2.0.3.2
LowerFilters: PxHelp20 (2.0.0.0), Cdr4_xp (7.1.0.188), drvmcdb (1.0.0.1), sscdbhk5 (1.0.0.1),
UpperFilters: Cdralw2k (7.1.0.188), GEARAspiWDM (2.0.4.3),
Video Driver: NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200\GeForce FX Go5200

If you have multiple drives on the same IDE or SCSI bus, these drives may interfere with each other.
Some computers need an update to the ATA or IDE bus driver, or Intel chipset. If iTunes has problems recognizing CDs or hanging or crashing while importing or burning CDs, check the support site for the manufacturer of your computer or motherboard.

Current user is administrator.

Sorry I just seen where you said there was 518 songs in this playlist you was burning, just make sure you have a playlist with only the 10 songs you want burned.

I don't think the problem will be with the blank CD brands per se because the error -128 noted in your diagnostic report means you or iTunes itself cancelled the burning process before any burning actually happened. It usually does this when theres some software or hardware conflict on the PC. iTunes unlike many other programs that run on windows tends to be very picky and you want to make sure your CD burner has the latest firmware updates from the PC makers web site

If you are sure your firmware is current, and you have slowed the burn speed in iTunes and still get this issue you may find this artical about modifying filters helpful http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302976
