Video layer anti-aliasing at the edges when mask is applied

A mask (made from a shape) if causing an odd problem with the video layer it is masking. It is causing the edges of the video to antialias. The odd part is that even edges far from the edges of the mask (sides and bottom in this example, are antialiasing to semi transparent. If I turn off the mask, the edge problem goes away. In the example below I have used Photoshop to show a 1600% enlargement of the issue. The pixels at the edge of the video have turned transparent revealing the red layer below.


Any ideas whey this is happening and how I can fix it?
