Changing the actual HDMI output resoloution
I have a MacBook Pro connected to a Switcher/Scaler (Kramer VP-728) using HDMI which is then connected to a projector. Since upgrading to Mavericks the output is automatically set to 1920x1200, however I need the output to be 1024x768 (or any resoloution with a 4:3 aspect ratio). I can click "scaled" in display preferences while holding the option key and select that resoloution, however as the option says it is scaled - the output signal is still actually 1920x1200 and as a result I get blank lines down either side of the projector.
Does anybody know I way I can manually set the actual resoloution being output on HDMI?
MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9)
