i´ve just bought ipad air, and when i connet to itunes it said is not charging.

it´s normal?

Yes, that is normal.

If your iPad is asleep it will charge, slowly, from your computer.

Yes, because your computer is not a sufficient power source. Use the 12W adapter that came with your iPad to adequately charge it.
