I'm upgrading a Mac Pro 1,1 - My new SSD (2.5") just arrived, and documentation is minimal - not sure if I need a kit or adapter to install into one of the open drive bays. Crucial (usually no complaints with them) isn't very informative.

You'll actually need an adaptor such as the Icy Dock (this is what I use).
Don't forget that your SATA ports are limited to 300MB/s, so you won't get top SSD speeds.

for the system it does not matter using SATA II but Cruical, it does matter regarding firmwsre of the SSD
