Q: The process always throws an error just as installation starts.

I've followed the steps to create a bootable USB with the OS X Mavericks installer and I hit the same error every time.

  • Boot using the USB
  • Select the Install option
  • Accept the T&C
  • Select the location for installation (a new blank SSD to replace my suspect old stss andard SATA drive)
  • Begin the Installation
  • Starts to run, then I get the same error telling me that the version of Mavericks has either been downloaded incorrectly or has been tampered with
  • Press "OK" and the installation terminates.

I've downloaded it three times to my iMac, already running Mavericks.

What am I doing wrong?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9)
