iv just bought the apple tv 3. and need the remote app to work on my 4th gen ipod ios 6.but it looks like its not availableios 6 anymore whats going on

ME TOO, except I need it to work with my iPhone 3GS running iOS 6.something...
I spoke to a Genius in a local Apple Store, and he told me that 'old' versions are not supported :-(

thats just ridiculous ,,so apple are just making sure you have to upgrade two year old hard ware..it always used to work untill iso 7 was released.
I bit the bullet today & purchased a used iPhone 4S just so I can run iOS 7. :-(
Time for the old 3GS to hit eBay I guess ...

If you downloaded the remote app for your iPod BEFORE the iOS7 release, you should be able to re-download it again (or so I believe).
