information missing

ok so i download all my music from the internet and i add the information and album covers myself. ALL my songs had their artist and album cover and all that information assigned. i resently added all my songs to the itunes library and at least 50 songs had their artist and album cover information disappear. the album and artist names disappeared. how do i fix this because i really dont want to go through all the songs and write in the info again.
