How do you map an expression pedal to work with Logic Pro' Smart Controls?

Hi,

When I set an expression pedal to send a CC message with range 0-127 the Smart Control knob does not move gradually. The knob moves incrementally and correctly only if I send a PitchBend midi message on channel 1.

For example, I have verified that the expression pedal is sending CC37 on MIDI channel 1 and when moving the pedal the value changes from 0 to 127.

However when I click "learn" to map the pedal to a Smart Control knob the knob moves from the max position straight to the min position. So two things wrong:

1. The know moves in the opposite direction even though the scale is set so that 0.00 corresponds to 0 and 1.00 (or whatever the max parameter value is) corresponds to 127

2. The knob does not move incrementally but jumbs from the max straight to min position.

Any help is greatly appreciated!
