How to change the Groups shared folders location

Hello,

I am trying to move the Groups shared folders location under Server 3 running on Mavericks. I looked at the following thread:

but the 'ln -s' might not be usefull to me since I need the Groups shared folders to be on another volume. Is there a proper way to specify the default location?
