WTF does this mean?:

I can't access my iphone on itunes when I plug it into the computer. This is the "error" message it gives me.

The iPhone “Kirk's iPhone” cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 11.1 or later. Go to www.itunes.com to download the latest version of iTunes.

Sounds simple enough. But, why wouldn't my phone (an iphone 4) have iTunes 11.1 or later? There are no available updates for my phone or computer, it says everything is up to date. And when I try to go to itunes the website just says something like, "your phone already has itunes."

Anybody else seen a message like this?

Thanks!

Kirk

You are Confused... The iTunes App on an iDevice is not the same as the iTunes Application for a computer.

You are being told in the message that Your Computer needs to have iTunes version 11 or later Installed on it to Sync an iDevice with iOS 7.

iTunes free download from www.itunes.com/download

NOTE:

You do not state what your computer is...

If a Mac... Click on the Apple icon.. Top left in Finder...

 > About this Mac > Version...what does it say?

You need Mac OS X 10.6.8 as a minimum for iTunes 11

It is a mac, but an older one, 2008.

version is 10.5.8

Upgrading to Snow Leopard = OS X 10.6.x

It is Not available as a download... It is a Paid Upgrade.

Do this first...

Check that your Mac meets the System Requirements for Snow Leopard...

Snow Leopard Tech Specs

http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575

If so... Purchase a Snow Leopard Install Disc...

Other countries...

After the Successful Install, run Software Update to get the latest updates for Snow Leopard and iTunes.

Be sure to make a Backup of your Current System Before Upgrading...
