Can't set a NEW apple ID payment method to 'none'
My father bought an iPad 3 days ago. Since he's a 70 year-old man, he asked me to set it up for him and install new apps for him. I'm a network specialist besides knowing about computer software and hardware, but I've never been around apple OS and hardware since in my country they aren't popular.
Now, when I first tried to download apps into the iPad, I created an 'apple ID' account as asked using my father's e-mail and information. Frustration came when it continuously asked for credit card information, not having a choice for 'None'. How can you be insistently asked for credit card information if the apps you want to download are free?. After trying to find ways to bypass this, I created a new Apple ID using one of my own personal e-mails, but this time the 'None' option appeared and I was able to download the apps my father requested me.
The problem now is that continuously asks for the password (which is mine) and since it's been done using one of my e-mails, my father won't have the chance to change anything.
As I said, my father is 70 years old, has only one e-mail account, and it'd be just troubling to make another e-mail account in order to make a new 'Apple ID' account that can be set to payment method: none...I live 4 hours away and I'm spending the only couple of days I get to see him in trying to solve this...which leads me to the next questions.
Mind that I ask this as politely as possible, taking in account the problem. What is the ******** logic behind Apple's ID account? I understand they obviously try to infer us to buy products, but why making it impossible to choose something which is available for others?
I've always heard Apple was better than Microsoft or PCs and things like that, but honestly, I just can't understand why the hype for these things. Personally, after this experience, I won't ever buy Apple knowing the logic behind their Apple ID.
I'd just like to ask for help so this iPad doesn't render obsolete for my father. These things are expensive down here, so it's not like he can throw this away...
