My white ballance dropper tool when selected on neutral gray or white results in the white balance shifting to an extreme green tint. Auto white balance in Aperature 3 works but the dropper does not. Any suggestions on how to fix?

Long shot, and I have not heard whether it fixed it, but have you installed the new raw update?
I have the latest updates on everything. I see others have had the issue earlier than me (no photo editing for the past 8 weeks).
Yes, but there was a raw update yesterday, have you installed that specifically. And I havve seen no reports that the latest update solves/continues the issue.
This problem has been going on since the release of Aperture 3.5. See for example:
