Q: why can't I edit file/folder icons

Hi all of you,so I can't

edit folder or file icons.

Only what I can do is swap them.

Does anyone know how to?

PowerMac, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

Hello, how are you trying exactly?

Here I did a Get info on Civ3, highlighted the icon, did CMD+c to copy it...
Then in the Get Info window for the Games folder, highlighted the generic folder icon & did CMD+v to paste Civ3 in it...

Did you highlight the icon you want & then copied it with CMD+c?

Then highlight the icon you want to replace & past the copied one with CMD+v?
