Mid 2012 13-inch Macbook Air Completely Freezing up

Hello,

Just now for the second time my Air screen has frozen completely while browsing Safari on OSX Mavericks. I can't move the cursor and closing the lid doesn't do anything. I've had to hold down the power button to turn off the system.

I am thinking it is an Operating System issue since this is a new problem. So far it has only happened twice: 11/7 and 11/13. I use the computer everyday.

Everything else on the system works just fine.

Anybody else experiencing this problem?

i5 processor

8gb of memory

251gb flash storage

Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB

Sure am. Every single morning I wake it, it works for 5 minutes then freezes. I have to force it to power down then it can take up to 10 minutes to switch on again. I have absolutely no idea what could be wrong with it other than some unresolved problem with Mavericks.

We aren't the only ones either – there are a few similar reports on here.
