Moving Apps
Hello everybody! I just bought a WONDERFUL (!!) MacBook Pro Retina and wanted to move my big library of purchased iPhone/iPad Apps from my previous MacBook to this one.
How can I do so? Thanks!!

Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Connect the iPhone and/or iPad, and iTunes will open automatically. It should allow you to transfer purchases, so choose that option.
If it doesn't give you this option, open iTunes and go to File menu (on the menu bar) > Devices > Transfer purchases
Hello Mende1! Thanks for getting back to me. Is there a way to move the files from one Mac to the other? On my iPhone I have roughly 50 apps, but in my library there are around 1.000, and it would take too long to download them again!
Of course. You can transfer the whole iTunes library if you wish, so you will keep everything you had on the old Mac.
Follow these steps > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1751 You need an external drive. Do the "Restoring your iTunes Library backup" on your new MacBook Pro, and open iTunes
You are really very kind! Forgive me if I abuse of your kindness... but what I did, I connected the old Mac to the new one via thunderbolt and started the old machine in "Target mode" (holding down the T key on start-up). I copied the whole Music folder and as a result I have my entire music library, but not the apps. Do you think I should follow the link you have posted earlier and re-copy the whole folder? It's a bit of a pain as my Music library weights around 120GB... but if there are no other options I'll stick to that!
You did it right, but it looks like you only transferred your songs. I recommend you to do what the link says
