I'm most disapointed in the fact that out of 4 iphones I've bought, all from AT&T stores, I've never once, in all that time, ever been offered AppleCare+ which I only learned about after i dropped my 5S a few weeks ago and did research about it
You cannot get AppleCare Plus through AT&T,.
You have to order the iPhone online from Apple (not AT&T) or purchase iPhone from AT&T then take it to an Apple store so they can inspect it or purchase iPhone at Apple store.

Mar 14, 2014 11:47 PM in response to Teamunikby Miphones,Hi team unit,
I operate a phone repair business specialising in Apple products and we charge $180 for a 5s screen replacement. You have to expect to pay more from Apple as they have much larger overheads than us smaller repairers.

Mar 15, 2014 4:49 AM in response to Miphonesby RichmondDan,Then again, Apple's price continues the warranty. Your service VOIDS the warranty!

Mar 15, 2014 9:08 PM in response to RichmondDanby xxzjq53215,Here's the thing though RichmondDan...I've been waiting several months for Apple to actually start repairing 5s screens in store. There have been several reports since November that they are going to do it. They repair the 5 and the 5c, and I have no doubt the technology exists to repair the 5s in store. So why won't they let us know when they are going to implement it? I think that's the thing that makes me the most angry...that they won't inform their "geniuses" or their telephone and internet chat customer service reps about when this service will be available.
So even if it is going to void my warranty, I really don't want to wait any longer for a service that we know they can provide. And yes, I realize now that I probably should have bought Applecare. But there is absolutely no reason why they can't keep their employees informed about when this service will be provided.

Mar 16, 2014 12:05 PM in response to xxzjq53215by RichmondDan,When and if my screen gets broken, I'll take it in and pay $269 for a replacement. If you prefer to wait several months to save $100 or so, or pay a third party and void the warranty, that's your choice.

Mar 25, 2014 12:08 PM in response to Teamunikby Meyer_je,Just went in the apple Store today and got a replacement for my screen (iPhone 5). It was easy, fast and saved my day. I waited like 40 minutes and payed 149$ without tax. Good service!

Mar 25, 2014 3:44 PM in response to Meyer_jeby ÆON,Meyer_je, it appears you did not read the topic title and are posting in the wrong place. This thread is about the Apple iPhone 5S screen repair cost, not the iPhone 5.

Apr 5, 2014 11:45 PM in response to Teamunikby Lizard2000,If you have the 1 year warranty, you aren't covered by the warranty for accidental damages. If you buy iCare 2 year warranty when you buy the phone, you're covered for 2 accidental damages and you only have to pay $79 fee and they will bring you a new phone. Granted, you might have to wait for a while. A $269 repair cost would make sense if you don't have iCare.

No such thing as iCare.
You mean the AppleCare+ 2 year warranty...

Apr 20, 2014 5:20 AM in response to Teamunikby kachiniko,In Aus and got this done 2 days ago. Met with a genius, she was so kind and decided that my phone was covered under warranty as it's a hairline crack ( and some scracthes at the back of my phone ). So I do not have to pay a thing!
TOO AWESOME and very glad as I could be paying up to $349 depending on the damages on the phone. The genius must be in a really good mood as the crack was about 7cm - 8cm long.
However, the phone that Apple is replacing is a refurbished phone. The genius explained to me it depends on how do you look at it. The new phone that we initially get, all parts being put together by the team. This "refurbished" phone parts were also being put together, tested by the same team and never owned by anyone. I was promised the new phone is "exactly" the same as my old phone. I got my initial phone back in Oct 2013 so the warranty will still start from Oct 2013.
Sorry if the reply is too long but trying to give as much information as possible as I know how devastated it is to have a crack screen and not able to get it repair by Apple!

Apr 22, 2014 7:33 PM in response to Teamunikby edgar1316,That cost is to high, I got my iPhone 5 screen replaced for 130.00 and they came to my location. The company is icracked and it's come with a life time warranty.

The iCracked lifetime warranty covers only the screen if it fails.
The screen is not covered if the screen is damaged and the rest of the hone is not covered for anything

May 1, 2014 3:36 PM in response to edgar1316by ÆON,Again, however, this question thread is about the Apple iPhone 5S, not the 5.
iCracked charges $199 for a 5S screen replacement, and their warranty only covers defects. It is nearly impossible, short of a class action lawsuit or actual admittance by a manufacturer or the installer to prove defects in parts or workmanship; and as Chris pointed out, does not cover if it is ever damaged or cracked again. It also voids your Apple warranty.
