May 1, 2014 3:53 PM in response to ÆONby Firocity,I am tired of my cracked screen! When the heck is Apple going to do in-store replacements?! There were articles published in November of last year saying that Apple stores were getting the equipment to perform these repairs. Does anyone have any info on this?

May 1, 2014 3:57 PM in response to Firocityby deggie,Some stores can do a screen replacement. Call Apple Stores in your area and see if they can do so.

Why didnt you get your iPhone replaced?

May 1, 2014 4:31 PM in response to Chris CAby Zorrobyte,You can chat or call in for Applecare+
You don't specifically need to go to an ARS location.
Repair or replacement. Either way you'll walk out with a working iPhone.

May 17, 2014 3:01 PM in response to Aemike0485by deggie,You really need to post your own thread.
What is wrong with your iPhone and what problem are you having getting it replaced?
Which model iPhone? When did you buy it?
-
May 17, 2014 3:36 PM in response to deggieby Aemike0485 ,I apologize that I'm sorta new to doing this. I bought it 2 months ago, and iPhone 5s. Cracked screen, no apple care..I know I know. I read a thread on here that stated with a managers approval and as an inconvenience for apple not having the components to fix them that certain managers have been able to just replace the whole device. I spoke to 2 managers at the 2 locations we have here in San Antonio and I didn't get anywhere.

May 17, 2014 3:40 PM in response to Aemike0485by deggie,That may have been true at one time but it is no longer the usual practice, and it had nothing to do with not having components. For $269 they will replace yours out-of-warranty.

May 17, 2014 3:47 PM in response to deggieby Aemike0485 ,Well I appreciate the info. I'm definitely going to weigh my options and speak to the area manager here. Again thanks

May 17, 2014 3:50 PM in response to Aemike0485by deggie,Do realize your request has been entered into their computer system so the area manager will be aware that you have been turned down twice. You would probably be better servced calling AppleCare and ask to be transferred to Customer Service. But the bottom line is accidental damage is not covered unless you purchase AppleCare or insurance with someone.

May 30, 2014 6:51 PM in response to Teamunikby trc3892,I need an opinion!
I bought my iphone 5s back in January and when I was getting my case replaced out of warranty, I put a different one on, dropped it, and boom crack in the corner. Its not on the touch screen part or anything so its not impairing my phone in any way, but its making the corner of my phone a little easier to crack (i hardly dropped it and it now has a couple smaller cracks by the bigger cracks) and I'm worried about dropping it (not that I'm okay with dropping it, but I expect to. I'm a clutz) and it cracking more and more. I don't have apple care. What would my options be? I spoke to a customer service rep online when it first cracked about a month ago and he said something about them possibly replacing it if it didn't qualify as accidental damage, might be completely getting that wrong, but I'm not 100% sure I understand. And if I did want to get it replaced, what is the price range I'm looking at?
Sorry for all the questions. I've been an iphone user for YEARS and never had even the littlest crack on my screen so I'm incredibly lost.
ALSO. I had been having major firmware issues with my phone since I bought it, and had been to the apple store on three different occassions (each time I was sent home to do the same exact thing), and the problems still haven't been fixed. I had been planning on going to the apple store to talk to them about my phone again when the drop happened and I got a crack on my phone. Will any warranty by voided because of my cracked phone (aka, are all chances of them replacing my phone because of the firmware gone because I cracked my phone?)
Thank you!

May 30, 2014 6:51 PM in response to trc3892by deggie,By case are you referring to the back of the iPhone? And where did you have it replaced?
-
May 30, 2014 6:52 PM in response to deggieby trc3892,Negative. Like, it was in a crappy phone case because the speck case I had was being replaced by warranty.
-
May 30, 2014 6:54 PM in response to trc3892by deggie,Oh, you mean the speck case warranty.
If an Apple Store near your can replace screens the cost will be $149 (call to find out), if they can't it will be $269 to get an out-of-warranty service replacement unit. Make a Genius Bar appointment before you go.
