How can I sync calendars or contacts between my iPhone 4 with MS Outlook 2007?

I have spend quite a few hours reading over the suggested helps already posted, but so far I have not found a viable solution. At one time the two calendars were in sync, but after the iCloud entered the picture, the phone and Outlook 2007 don't talk to each other.
