After installing the new iOS, my iPad with retina display will no longer mirror. The camera doesn't appear to be working either.

When we try to open camera or use FaceTime, the screen is black and the iPad will freeze up and exit out of the app. If we try to mirror, the tv screen will go black but will not mirror. It all worked fine before we updated to the new iOS. We have tried updating the apple tv software as well as the iPad apps.

iPad 2, iOS 7.0.2

Hi Jnlbauer,

Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.

If you're seeing unexpected behavior with FaceTime and AirPlay, first make sure your iPad is up to date (iOS 7.0.4 was recently released.)

Update your device wirelessly (available in iOS 5 and later)

  1. Ensure your device is connected to a power source. To avoid potential data costs connect your device to a Wi-Fi network.
  2. Go to Settings > General > Software Update. iOS will automatically check for available updates. Available updates download automatically if your device is connected to Wi-Fi and a power source.
  3. If an update is available* you can tap Download to download the update.
  4. After the download has completed tap Install to update your iOS.
